With the Center for International Law and Policy, students can immerse themselves in the practice of international law. Through the curriculum and special Center-sponsored events, you’ll build both expertise and empathy. And you’ll have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience—and real-world skills—in international legal issues such as:

New England Law also offers a wealth of international law studies and opportunities for aspiring international lawyers, including an International Law concentration, Immigration Law certificate program, and more.

CILP Field Placements and International Externships

Spend a full semester doing the work of a real international lawyer in an epicenter of the international legal community. CILP sponsors semester-long for-credit externships in international law with the U.S. State Department, the International Bar Association, the International Criminal Court, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon at The Hague, and more.

International Law and Policy Projects

CILP research projects will immerse you in issues of international significance with real-world ramifications. Students conduct legal research for a wide variety of advocacy institutions, working on legal issues ranging from international discrimination against women to corporate accountability for human rights violations.
